2007 Pride in Print

On behalf of our Production Staff, and our clients Ata Rangi and Maven, we're pleased to have been awarded two Gold Medals in the 2007 Pride in Print Awards.

The annual awards, held this year in Christchurch, celebrate the best submissions from all categories of the print industry.

In the Labels Category judging is based on the technical excellence in all facets of the production process. Judges assess each job based on the accuracy of print, quality of reproduction and the degree of difficulty in producing the entry.

The Maven label won Gold with one of their 8 South Island pictorial images. Maven's wines feature multiple front label images for the same variety wine, which in itself is notable. We think the Judges were likely impressed by the depth of colour and the evocative mood that we are able to replicate on the Maven label.

The Ata Rangi Crimson label won Gold with their special wine which financially supports the Project Crimson Charitable Conservation Trust. Ata Rangi's Clive Paton is deeply involved in the effort to conserve Northern Rata in the Wairarapa. The label features a clever floating front panel. We hold a very demanding image in tight registration on the Crimson label. The judges comments were "clean, sharp print with great depth of colour."

Better still we won Best in Category - Labels with the Ata Rangi Crimson, which meant that it was nominated for the Supreme Award in 2007's Pride in Print. The Supreme Award is the pinnacle of quality printing in New Zealand. Being nominated is quite an honour.

This is an excellent result for Rapid Labels and we are particularly pleased for Ata Rangi and Maven who entrust us with their label business.
